PUBLISHING
CRISA is registered as a publisher at the Nigerian ISBN Agency, National
Library, Lagos. The first publication of the Centre was a book on the
Epidemiology and Control of Substance Abuse in Nigeria (Obot, 1993) based
on selected papers presented at the inaugural conference held in 1991.
With a grant from the UNDCP, the Centre, in 1996, published an important
reference material -
Drugs and the Nigerian Society: A Comprehensive
Annotated Bibliography. Also with funding from the UNDCP, a guide to drug
abuse prevention for parents, guardians and teachers will soon be
published.
In November 2000, CRISA launched
The African Journal of Drug and Alcohol Studies.
This research journal is devoted to the publication of empirical research
findings, informed opinion, and policy analysis on drug-related issues in
Africa. Also in 2000 a book titled
Perspectives on Drugs and Society in Nigeria, Vol. 1,
was published (based on papers presented at past conferences).
